Episode Format:

Boxer Falls is a weekly web serial in the mode of a romantic soap opera. Your episode of Boxer Falls should:

  • Feature a minimum of 4 of our recurring characters and the theme of the Goodreads Book of the month.

  • Reflect the classic four C’s of soapdom: character, continuity, credibility, conflict.

  • Be between 2000 to 5000 words. Think high drama, visual punch, and “in media res” for this. Several short, dynamic scenes will work better than one HUGE rambler.

  • Respect the facts established in prior episodes. If you have something drastic in mind, please talk to us first so we can make sure it fits into the season’s arc.

  • Honor standard romance industry exclusions: No sexual contact with anyone under 18. No bestiality or necrophilia.  No eroticized excrement, rape, torture, or murder.

  • Be formatted without indents, and HTML coded for paragraphs, italics, bold and underline for Goodreads . We can take care of this if you’d like.

  • End on a “Stay tuned!” cliffhanger & a few teasing questions to bring them back next week.
